January 14, 2010 (2:27pm., day twelve of our 21-day fast)

Journal entry:

This fast has been awesome! I have so much clarity, so much vision for how You are calling me to lead New Hope into all that You dreamt up for us since before the world began. You are so good!

In my idealistic pastor way of thinking, I am so excited for all You are doing in and through us, and I am grateful that You are so patient with us.

However, in my humanness, I find myself struggling a bit with whether or not I can successfully share Your vision and then gather this little flock together around the cause of making disciples—of truly changing lives. It just seems like we are all coming together from such different starting places; how we view things and our priorities can be so dissimilar at times.

I do sense a stirring, though, like a gentle breeze is beginning to fill our trembling sails. Last Sunday was amazing! From the very beginning, people were here, the Building was full and rockin’ with praise and worship, and we just seemed to be more united than ever before. Are we beginning to unite together, to have one heart and mind… are we starting to see a measure of synergy as we hunger for Your PRESENCE?

God, I know You have called me to be a seed-planter, but You are also blessing me by letting me see so much fruit! People who have quietly sat back for some time are beginning to be stirred up in their giftings and passions. They are beginning to step up and get involved by using their talents to serve and love You and others. Many people have taken advantage of the new LIFE Groups and are connecting with others and growing in the knowledge of the truth.

I sense the breeze picking up, the sails are flapping, stretching to catch even more of the wind of Your promise and purpose… we are truly becoming YOURS!

O Lord, I pray specifically for our Gatherings on Sunday, January 31st. I pray that You would bring everyone here who needs to be here… all the people who call New Hope their home. I pray that You will help me to understand exactly what You are showing me regarding the spiritual breakthrough You desire for us. Help me to truly hear Your plan for those Family get-togethers. Lord Jesus, if I don’t hear You clearly, it will only bring confusion. Help me to get my way of thinking out of the way so I can clearly hear Your Spirit reveal to me Your way of thinking. Lord, I know You will honor us with Your presence, and I am grateful to simply be one of Your vessels. Fill us with Your Spirit, help us to walk in Your Spirit, and give us eyes to see past the things we see naturally… may we see into the realm of Your eternal Kingdom.

So let it be!
