Welcome to our site! We hope you find it easy to access all the information you need, and if you have any suggestions on how we can improve anything, feel free to e-mail us and well take them into careful consideration.

We are a people who endeavor to put God first in all we do, from our music to the teaching, from our giving to serving our kids and visitors, it's all WORSHIP. This is where the Loving One God phrase comes in. Along with loving God passionately, we long to be a family, a place for people, like you, to come and connect, a place to BELONG. This is where the second part of our little phrase comes in: Loving All People. Now, to be honest, we are all imperfect, broken human beings, who can tend to lean toward being selfish at times. In other words, WE ARE NOT A PERFECT CHURCH. We are a bunch of people of all ages and backgrounds learning to work together to expand God's kingdom of light by loving on one another. Though we will never be perfect, if God has called you to come and be part of this family, then this is the perfect place for you to be.

Family Business Gathering will be on Monday, January 30th from 6:30-8pm in the Sanctuary. This will be a time where the church council will review 2011 finances and members can ask questions. 21-Day Daniel Fast starts Sunday, January 8th and runs through Sunday, January 29th. Join us for a time of simple eating, prayer and worship to the Lord. We would love for you and your family to join us in fasting and prayer (if you are physically able). We encourage everyone to join us on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8pm for prayer in the Sanctuary during the fast. We will also be doing a 3-day complete fast from January 26th-29th for those who would like to. The basics of this fast can be found HERE . (Hebrews 4:12; II Timothy 3:16-17)•grace This is the free gift of favor Papa God gives us: we cant earn it, and we surely don't deserve it. He just loves us because He does, even when our lives get messy and we sin or make mistakes. His grace makes no rational sense to us because there's nothing from earth even remotely like it. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good! (Romans 3:22-24; Ephesians 2:4-10)•ministry of the Holy Spirit The very Spirit of Jesus Christ, sent to be our Helper while we await His return as King. The third part of the trinity, the Holy Spirit gives us the power to change and become His witnesses in all we say and do. When we open our hearts to Him, the Holy Spirit comes in, bringing gifts to each one of us, which we learn to use to glorify God. Our aim is to be flexible to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and to use all the gifts (prophecy, speaking in tongues, words of knowledge, etc.) to fulfill all He calls us to do. (Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 12:7-11)•courageous obedience Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The God of Angel Armies lives inside of us! and He paid a terrible price to buy us off of the slave market of sin. Recognizing that we belong to Him, we endeavor to courageously surrender our rights in complete trust to His will and way. We long to obey His voice in everything He calls us to, no matter how crazy it might seem to our earthly way of thinking. (I Corinthians 6:18-20; II Timothy 1:6-7)•faithful prayer and fasting This is two-way communication with our Papa in heaven, and it is absolutely vital for our journey through the battles of life. Here, faithful can have two meanings: first, we endeavor to be faithful by being consistent in our communication with God, and secondly, we are learning to pray prayers that are full of faith. In other words, we believe that we truly can make a difference by calling heaven down to earth through powerful and effective prayer. Also, we are on a journey to learn another discipline which goes hand in hand with prayer: fasting. (James 5:13-16; Matthew 5:5-18)Loving All People•family At New Hope, the church is NOT the building; it is made up of a family of misfits that Papa has brought together from all walks of life. Families are not perfect. Sometimes we get on each others nerves, and sometimes we may even offend one another, but when it comes down to fighting the tough battles we all face, no one stands alone. We laugh together and we cry together, but through it all, we remain together.(I Peter 2:4-5, 9-10; Hebrews 10:24-25)•forgiveness We have been forgiven all our wrongs (debts) by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus' death on the cross. Who are we, then, to feel entitled to have others owe us something? We truly believe that forgiving others who have hurt or offended us is the key to freedom for all involved. This is definitely not an easy thing to do, but it is the right thing to do, so we help one another get to the place where we can genuinely say to those who have hurt us, "You don't owe me anything." We release the other person from their debt, and in so doing, find that we are the ones set free. (Matthew 6:12; Matthew 18:21-35)•cultural/generational acceptance As stated above, we are a family, and we come from many different tribes and backgrounds. Whether you are a new believer or an experienced saint, a young person or a golden-oldie, no matter what color your skin or political party preference, YOU are welcome here! (Revelation 7:9-10)•authenticity/balance We long to be real, and we do not feel the need to act like we've got it all together when we feel like things are falling apart. This is a safe place to be who we are, a family where we can work through our struggles and doubts and not fear being judged by super-Christians. There has only ever been One who deserves that title, and it isn't any of us! We also value living balanced lives, lining up with the Word of God and not getting caught up in sensationalism just because it feels good. (Psalm 51:6; Ephesians 4:14-15)•giving We believe that it truly is more blessed to give than to receive. Papa gave His all for us; how could we hold back from giving Him our best? In giving, we're not just talking money, though what we do with our money is an important indicator of our heart. We give of ourselves by spending our time, energy, and strength to help others. We also give God the first fruits of our financial resource, recognizing that it all belongs to and comes from Him in the first place! (Acts 20:35; II Corinthians 9:6-8)•servant-ministry We believe that leaders lead from the bottom, not from the top down. Leaders are to come alongside and support those they lead with all humility, not by being bossy and misusing their authority. In cheerfully serving others, inside and outside the church, we are truly serving our Heavenly Father. After all, Jesus set the example, and we are His followers, right? Nursery

For Infant-Kindergarden

The Nursery ministry provides a safe, loving environment for our little ones to play and learn the simple truths about Jesus and the Bible. We believe that we should begin teaching our little ones about Jesus as early in their lives as possible.

Nursery care is available on Sundays during the entire gathering in the nursery classrooms (in the hallway near the office). The classes are broken down by age group: Infant, Toddlers and Preschool/Kindergarden. Nursery care will also be available for some Life Groups and other church events.

The Heart of Construction Zone is to build up kids that will fall for their Heavenly Father through:

-Bible lessons

Construction Zone is available for all Kindergarden-6th graders on Sundays, after worship, and 1st-6th graders on Wednesday nights, from 6:30-8:00pm in the Construction Zone room in the hallway near the nurseries and the office.

Unleashed

For 7th-12th Grades

Unleashed Youth is designed for 7th-12th graders to come, hangout, have fun and grow in their walks with the Lord. The youth worship together, read the Word together and stand in prayer with one another. All young people are welcome!

They meet on Sunday mornings: 8:30am for High School in the Refuge and after worship for Junior High. They also meet on Wednesday nights in the Refuge and the Rising from 6:30-8:30pm.

For 18-25 years olds

Synthesis young adults group is for all people ages 18-25 years old who want to connect with other people their age, grow in their walks with God and serve our world with their gifts and talents. All young adults are invited to come join this home group.

Synthesis meets every other Thursday night at the Etter's house, 1414 Trailwood Avenue Manteca.

NextGen Ministries are a valuable part of New Hope Church. We, at New Hope Church, love and value people of all ages, male and female who come from all kinds of different backgrounds. There is a place in the body of Christ for all people. This is the reason why we try to make a place for all people. Whether it be Women of Destiny, our Women's Ministry, Cleansing Stream, or Warriors of Hope, our Men's Ministry, we attempt to give each person a place to connect, build relationships, and grow in their walks with the Lord. WARRIORS OF HOPE

Warriors of Hope is New Hope Church's Men's Ministry. This is a group where every man is welcome to come worship, study the Word, fellowship and grow in their walk with God. We believe that, as men, we need to stand together to fight the good fight of faith. We need to encourage one another to be good husbands, good fathers and good followers of Jesus Christ.

WOMEN OF DESTINY

Women of Destiny is New Hope's women's ministry. Our vision is to love, to serve, to give of ourselves by discipling others, be a gift to those around us by connecting cross-generationally and grow as women of God. We have annual retreats, Bible studies, special events, and a yahoo group for prayer requests, praises and sharing. All women from all walks of life are welcome to come and be a part.

Lori Moreno, as of October 2011, is taking over leading Women's Ministries here at New Hope Church. She will bring great passion, energy and vision to our women. If you have any questions about Women's Ministries, please feel free to contact Lori Moreno .

RECOVERY

New Hope Recovery is a ministry designed to help people overcome addictions in their lives. This is a safe, comfortable environment to overcome addictions, stand with one another in this battle and grow in your walk with the Lord.

THE LIGHTHOUSE History and VisionIn 2007, Tim Kemptner and the New Hope leadership felt FATHER was leading our family to form a relationship with the people living around Southside Park. This park has been a troubled area for years as two different gangs claimed it as their own. The neighborhood people lived in fear and hopelessness regarding a better life for their families. We began coming on the third Saturday of every month bringing a hot lunch, activities for children and encouragement for all who came. GOD also called two other churches to minister at Southside.Update: As of Summer 2011, Bob and Marilyn Mitchell are stepping down as the missionaries at the Lighthouse. They will continue to head up the Hope in the Park outreach for the time being. In 2009, the LORD gave our church a house just north of the park. So Bob and Marilyn Mitchell moved into the house, the Lighthouse, in June as missionaries to the community. Their desire is to show others the Good News of the Gospel and teach them how to walk with our KING as they share the love of JESUS to their neighbors. The ministry has grown beyond the monthly park gathering to include grocery distribution and increased opportunities to share FATHER'S love with others. The Lighthouse is a place where people can come for safety, fellowship, fun and prayer.
UPCOMING EVENTS God is moving at Southside Park!! Join us every third Saturday for Hope in the Park as we are HIS hands extended to the people of Manteca living near Southside Park, where we share God's Word, a hot lunch, groceries, and activities for children! It's a great opportunity for the whole family to come and just hang out and let FATHER'S love flow through you to others. MEXICO

Ensenada, Mexico

Update: In July 2011, our youth ministry, Unleashed, took a group of 18 people down to minister to over 100 kids, 15 moms, 40 pastors and their spouses and to paint a church. God blessed us mightily and used us impact many lives in Mexico. There will be an adult work/ministry trip taking place in November 2011. Please contact Youth Pastor, Tyler Etter, for more information regarding this trip.For over a decade. our church has been traveling down to Ensenada, Mexico for our annual mission trip. We have taken numerous youth and adults to serve Francisco and Elva Camacho's ministry to the children of Ensenada. These amazing people run after school programs for kids in more remote parts of the city. They provide a safe place for children to play, eat, and grow in their walks with the Lord. The Camachos also reach out to the families of the children. Our heart for taking an annual mission trip to Ensenada is two-fold: one, we want to support the ministry of the Camacho's and two, we want to expose the people of New Hope Church to missions. NIGER

New Hope AfricaUpdate: New Hope Church sent 3 people to Niger in February 2011 to support the flourishing yet persecuted church in Niger. New Hope Church has been connected with Vie Abondante since 2003. This ministry is working with unreached people groups in the country of Niger in West Africa. Niger is the poorest nation on Earth, according to the United Nations. 25% of the children in Niger die before the age of 5. This country also has a literacy rate of less than 15%. Neal and Danette Childs lead the ministry of Vie Abondante in Niger. They work with missionary couples from Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States. This ministry was founded by Ron and Jerry Childs (Neal's parents) who are also still active in the mission fields of Niger. Vie Abondante is a multi-faceted ministry. It has three main ministry regions within the country of Niger. It focuses its efforts in the areas with the highest populations, Maradi, which is located in the center of the country, Naimey, the capital of Niger and Diffa which is in the eastern part of the country. This ministry has a primary school, discipleship schools, leadership schools, a radio program and has planted over 30 churches that are led by indigenous pastors. They also work to feed the people, provide medical assistance and teach the natives to read.

We, at New Hope Church, value the great commission. We believe that people matter to God and they ought to matter to us, as the church. The great commission mandate from Jesus to His church requires us to become friends of the unevangelized, unchurched and unloved. We must value the dignity and worth of all people. We must sacrificially give ourselves to the task of evangelization. This begins with our family and friends and then reaches beyond to a world in need of a Savior. We also desire to be a healthy missions-active church. We want to take a proactive posture towards reaching the world with the love of Christ. Tim was born in 1974 in Weatherford, OK but has lived Manteca since the age of 5. He went to school at New Haven, Golden West, Yosemite, Lincoln, and finally Manteca High where he graduated in 1992 wearing a white turtleneck under a grey cardigan (yikes!). He played 4 years of basketball for the Buffs and ran track his senior year. In 1998, Tim was married to a gorgeous Irish girl named Lisa (she's the organized one), and they have three amazing children: rambunctious boys Ciaran (pronounced Kearan) and Pearce, and their precious daughter, Trinity. Before becoming lead pastor in August of 2007, he had the privilege of serving as New Hope's youth pastor for 10 years. Tyler was born on July 24, 1987 in Modesto as the youngest of three kids. He is newly married to Cassie Peters. He grew up in the Central Valley and graduated from Grace M. Davis High School in Modesto in 2005. He received a bachelors degree in Communication Studies and Political Science from California State University Stanislaus in 2009. Tyler started attending New Hope in 1993, growing up in this church body. Tyler has served as the Youth Pastor at New Hope since September 2007. He considers it the ultimate honor to be called to serve as a pastor at New Hope. Jack Coldren is a husband, father of 3 adult children and a Grampy. He has been married to Sharolyn since 1971. Jack is a life-long resident of Manteca and has served, at what is now called, New Hope Church since the beginning. Jack and Sharolyn were one of the 5 founding families of New Hope Church. Jack has served as Associate Pastor since 1992. He has taken several mission trips to Africa and longs for our local community and surrounding areas to be affected as a mission field - learning of the goodness that Christ has for each individual. His passion is people and seeing them walk in wholeness that Jesus holds for them. Jack continues to find that next step for himself and others that will keep them walking in the Spirit. Some of these steps he has found are: Cleansing Stream, Search for Significance and recently LifeChange Workshop. God never changes but technology does, and the resources to wholeness are always something he and Sharolyn seek out. Jack loves his Bible and continues to search out the scripture for promises not only for himself but for the Body of Christ. Becky is 30 years old and has been married to Jeremiah for 7 1/2 years. She met Jeremiah at LIFE Bible College. They have 3 of the MOST adorable children you'll EVER meet (Ha, Ha...I knew that would get you [and yes, Becky did write this biography herself]) Malachi, Emilee, and Autumn. She has worked with children in various settings for the last twelve years. She's known since she was in Jr. High that her calling was to children, and she doesn't mean just having them. She wants 4 more of her own though - HA, JUST KIDDING!! (did I make your heart stop?) :) She WILL someday write children's books - this has been her dream for years now. When she has "free" time, she enjoys doing coffee with girlfriends, scrapbooking and of course what every girl loves, SHOPPING! Donna lives in Manteca with her husband, John, and their son, Brandon. She has two adult married children that have blessed her with 5 grandchildren. Some of the things she likes to do is watch her son's baseball games (getting baseball fever just about the time he starts practicing), reading, people watching (just trying to figure out who they are and where they at in their lives), and being with her grandchildren. One of her most favorite things to do is to go to the coast and spend time on the beach listening to the waves. She also love being a part of New Hope Church and the challenging direction God is taking us. Pam has been married to Richard since 1970. They have 2 sons, Rick & Kevin who are awesome young men of God. God gave her the daughter she always wanted when Rick married Rebecca. Together, they produced 4 of the brightest and cutest grandkids ever! Pam is so in love with Jesus and is sooooooo glad He found her when He did. January 2012As I write this in December, I can’t help but reflect on how tough the year 2011 has been for many of us. Maybe it has been “one of those years” for you, as well? If so, I challenge you to make the choice to appreciate the good things God has done, rather than focus on the tough times you may have had to endure. Thanksgiving is not just a holiday in November—it can and should be a lifestyle that we, as Believers, walk in. Let us recount all the blessings we have been given…better yet, let’s sing of them!“I will praise the name of God with song and magnify Him with thanksgiving.” ~Psalm 69:30If you wrote a song of thanksgiving about this past year, what would the verses be? And the chorus? My song would be something like this:Never have I been so broken, the pain’s never run so deepI have cried so many tears, at times I’ve had none to weepQuestions have overwhelmed me, darkness crashing downIf they were a river, I fear that I would drownAnd yet… I’ve never felt so close to my Father, for I know that He is goodI’ve never felt so close to my Brother, the One who hung broken on the woodI’ve never felt so close to the Spirit, the Light inside of meI’ve never felt so close, and I know You’ll always be…so close to me What about your song? What can you look back on and be thankful for? God truly is good, and His goodness can be the hope that is an anchor for your soul (Hebrews 6:19). Go ahead, write your own song of thanksgiving…and then choose to sing it—sing it by the way you live your life every day. Sing your song in the face of darkness; sing it in the face of pain; sing it in the face of your doubts. Sing your song of thanksgiving to your Father’s heart until the words reverberate through your very soul and into the heavens! God is so close to the broken-hearted, and He promises to heal us (Psalm 34:18; 147:3). That kind of love, my friend, is something to rejoice in, no matter what circumstances you are facing. Life GroupsExperiencing the very nature of God, wow big statement but it is true. God is love, God has always been love and He always will be!For God to express love he had to express it to someone or something, the first community where the expression of love took place was in the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Then His creation US!Genesis 1:26 God said let us make man in OUR image according to OUR likeness (OUR Nature)Genesis 1:27So God created man in His own IMAGE; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.The natural thing for us to do according to God’s nature is to be in community, but there is an opposing force that tries to keep us isolated, alone and defeated. God gave the example of how to live, and love and experience joy. The abundant Life!This life brings with it many challenges, disappointments, ailments, lost dreams, baggage, addictions and heartbreak, loss of a loved one, hopelessness, etc, etc, etcThe list above describes me, and some of it or all of it may describe you also. It is not always easy to expose our frailties to strangers. Heck sometimes not even to those we know, but it is freeing and restorative. The Word of God states that the things we keep in the dark keep us in bondage, but the things brought into light we are set free from.Life Groups are a safe place to dump your trash, to be encouraged, to be nurtured and to learn about our Father and His plan and destiny for each of us. It is a place to express your gifting. But more than anything it is a place to be loved and a place to restore and protect your HEART.ABOVE ALL ELSE GUARD YOUR HEART, FOR IT IS THE WELLSPRING OF LIFE. (PROVERBS 4:23)

Jacob (Jake) was born in Livermore, CA and moved to Manteca in 1984 (???). We started attending New Hope Church back in 85. Although, he has traveled quite extensively, New Hope has truly always been home. He graduated from East Union High in 91. Then in 92 moved to Colorado where he was based as a full time missionary with an interdenominational, Christian missions organization. With this group Jake has traveled the world experiencing what it means to preach the gospel to every tounge and tribe.He moved back to Manteca in 97, married Shauna in 01, moved to her home town (Tell City, IN) in 02, returned to God’s country (Manteca) in 09 with two additions to the fam, Hope and Brooke. Oh, ps, just found out there should be another in late summer 2011. At present he is working as a janitor at New Hope where the joy of serving in the house of the Lord is recognized and revered. Furthermore, at present, He is attempting to discover what God has for him on a daily basis. My God is so stinkin’ big I just wish to see a glimpse of Him…Favorite Food: Just about anything, except Italian and Bell PeppersFavorite Dessert: Hmm, how’s a guy supposed to nail that one down?Favorite Band: Third day (for their passion)Top 3 Favorite Songs: I can’t possibly list just threeTop 3 Favorite Movies: Star Wars (the whole enchilada), Matrix (the first one only), Bedtime StoriesFavorite Vacation Spot: I have traveled so much I can’t think of any one spot, however, my absolute two favorite countries were Spain and Australia. State side I love anything in the mountains or near water (preferably both). Also, I must say, I have not seen most of the world, so my preference may change as the Lord takes me on new adventures.Favorite Vehicles He’s Owned: Probably my 1969 International pick-up. It was a tank, I could run into just about anything with no damage – to my vehicle. hehehe
